Transcript of this podcast episode

Ingrid: In today's episode, we're exploring how to start, as you mean, to go on and set yourself up for a confident, focused and achievable decluttering year in 2026, rather than relying on New Year's vigor. That fades by February. We're talking about how to build a plan that lasts, one that fits your home, your lifestyle. Your emotional energy. you're ready for a calmer, more intentional 2026. This episode will guide you through the first steps.

Ingrid: Hello and welcome listeners. I'm Ingrid.

Lesley: And I am Lesley. Now, if you are here for the very first time today, or you've been listening in for ages, we want to say a huge thank you we have a little favour to ask.

Well, Lesley, first of all, happy New Year

Lesley: Happy New Year. I know. How exciting is that? We're still here.

Ingrid: Un.

Lesley: Woo-hoo. Another year, another New Year's podcast. So, but we, to be fair, we love the beginning of a new year because everybody wants to do decluttering. So we're kind of in demand right Ingrid So, yeah, we're kind of in demand in January every year, aren't we?

By December it fades off, but yeah, in January is the peak of our, our, what is it, our popularity, so what's not to like, particularly on the 2nd of December. Of January, sorry. So yeah, no, I'm excited for another year. Do you know what? It's so nice, isn't it? To just see the energy and excitement about people who are like, right, enough's enough.

That was 2025. Now's 2026. I am ready to get started and make some changes in my home. And we are here for you for the whole year, not just January. but we know that there you will be extra excited in January. So we're gonna do our very best to spur you into energy starting with this podcast.

Ingrid: And Lesley, what a year will it be? Because later this year, in only about three months time, we'll have our 400th episodes.

Lesley: I mean, it's just funny, like it's literally funny, like me and you like. I just think it's funny, like, do you know what I mean? Like we just sat there on that kitchen table that one time like, yes, we record a podcast. That's fun. And now we, now we are here and officially we went, last year we went from a top 1% podcast to a top half a percent podcast.

So of all the podcasts in all of the world. About any topic. We are in the top half a percent of them, top half percent doesn't really roll off the tongue in the same way. Does it as top 1% though?

Ingrid: Yeah.

Lesley: you know what I mean?

Ingrid: I know, I know, but it's, it's like we were like, you were sending me a screenshot and I just went, woo-hoo. I mean, so thank you. Before we do anything else, thank you listeners for tuning in every week. If you're brand new, you're so welcome here to the shenanigans of Ingrid and Lesley. And if you are like, I'm like, you're like, I've been here all the 388 episodes. Lesley Ingrid, give me more. We are here with more and yes, 2nd of January, what a date to be having already a podcast at the start of the new year because everybody is buzzing about it, buzzing about decluttering, all of the things, all of the plans.

So we're like, right, we need to talk to you today about, okay, now let's work this out together. Let's start as we mean to go on. Let's create a plan here because. We need a plan. I know people are like, oh, boring. No, no, no. I know, I know, I know it's not. I know it. Maybe it sounds a bit boring, but it's really important because we want you to succeed in 2026. So Lesley, what do we need to do first before we can even look forward? We need to look back, right?

Lesley: Before we get started, you know your use of the terminology, people are buzzing to get decluttering. I'm sure there are a lot of people like, you know, we are buzzing to be here. Whether everybody else is like, yay, gimme some of that decluttering. Amazing. That's what I wanna do in my whole 2026. So I'm not quite sure everybody's got quite this.

Same energy and excitements as we have, but let's hope we can bring them along for the ride. So, yeah, that did make me laugh. But anyway, that's the standard ingredient, right? But anyway, so, yeah, it's really important. Before we make a plan, we have to look at the actions that we have taken in the past and whether or not.

They went well or they didn't go so well or they were a little bit okay. And then a little bit dodgy in some places. So what went well in 2025? Were you that person who at the beginning of 2025 was listening to our first New Year podcast of the year going. This is my year and I'm totally gonna do it.

And by February, March, you'd sort of tailed off a little bit and actually you ended the year in a worse position than you started or in the same position as you started, or you made some progress, or you might made great progress. So we need to reflect on where we are at the beginning of 2026 and what we did in 2025.

It's so important to reflect back because we need to learn from our successes and our failures in equal measure. right Ingrid.

Ingrid: Yeah, definitely. Because you know, we can then, if we identify what we went, what went well, we can keep building on that. And if we look at, okay, that didn't go so great, we need to figure out what happened, why didn't it go so great? Because it's so easy to get stuck in a rut and to keep doing the same thing that you've always done.

But of course, one of our favorite sayings is if you always do what you've always done, you will always. Get what you've always gotten. So you need to look back and go,

Lesley: Okay.

Ingrid: okay, hold on a minute before I even make a plan for 2026. Let's look back for a minute and what were my plans last time? How did it pan out when were times in the year?

Maybe that went really well for me. What were super busy times and decluttering felt of fell off the radar, or has there been a massive, life changing, impactful thing happened to me? And that's why my own house was maybe not on the forefront as much because my attention was completely elsewhere. You need to, you need to put it in perspective because what, what we know from experience that people who have clutter always, always think about everything they haven't done. And the things they haven't achieved and the things that didn't happen and all the roadblocks that came in our way, instead of going, okay, that might be the case, but what were the things that did go well? What was actually a success for me? Which little habit did I start? Because we forget. Always everything that we have done and always berate ourselves for everything that we haven't done.

So that's why it's also very useful to look back on the last year and we're not talking about it. You have to now do a, a, a 10 page journal and, and, and all of that and, and do a Venn diagram and pros and cons and all. But just sit down with yourself a little bit. Go. You know what, we're now at the start of 2026. this year? Where did I nail it? What are things to improve upon and, and what can I learn from that to move on?

Lesley: Do you know, it's interesting that you say that, that you shouldn't write a 10 page journal, and I completely agree with you on that, Ingrid, but it's useful to have some kind of record of your thoughts, right? And so. If you, and, and the reason why we say this is 'cause Ingrid and I, we, before we, we, came onto this podcast, we were like, right, okay, let's talk about our New Year's resolutions.

And, and I'm like, how did we fare for last year's new resolutions? So I'm pretty sure in last 20, 25, January, the first podcast, Ingrid and I probably shared in that podcast what our intentions were for the year. rather than resolutions, we probably call them intentions. We were like, I've got no idea.

You know, because I'm sure we could find it if we looked, we could listen to that podcast. but we didn't. I seem to remember for me that I said that I wanted a new word to be my word of the year, which was calm. Now here we are at the beginning of 2026. Ingrid, what are we thinking about my. A very big intention and desire to be calm.

Did it work out?

Ingrid: Well, not really. No. I think, I think, I think 2025 was one of the most craziest years we've ever done here at the, in all the time that we've been working together. And I think we, we had all the intention of it being a calm year, but it was anything. But because of course our wonderful book went live and life got completely crazy with us going. on a very famous radio program. We, we were in about over a hundred articles on, on, on online and in magazines. We did talks. We did, we won an award. We, I mean, it was just,

Lesley: But I think, you know, we say that, yeah. So it was, and that's, and there's a really interesting point in that, and that's the reason why I raised it, is because I think what I would say is that even though it was everything but calm, our goal towards becoming calm was something that pervaded that whole year.

Right. So yes, we got derailed at times, but we were constantly looking at, particularly in a business context, we were looking at processes, we're looking at how we could drive efficiencies. You know, we were looking at how we could could be better. We looked at all, everything. So the same thing that you would do in your home, we looked at in our business, like, what's working?

What's not working? What do we need to change? How can we achieve that? How long is that gonna take? And so, even though. It was not calm. I think the goal of CALM did go through the whole year. We were still doing that kind of stuff in December. Right, Ingrid? And so

Ingrid: Yep.

Lesley: I think that's important. So it's not about the achievement of that per se, it's about did it just completely slip off the radar and you just didn't do anything?

Or were you constantly trying. To make positive steps forward. And that's the most important thing is that attempt to try. So I do think it's actually worth breaking it down, looking at reflecting on 2025 and go, what do I think Even you can't remember. I, I have a vague recollection that Calm was my thing, was my thing.

Which is kind of laughable really. It really is. but I do think we kind of tried it. It didn't always work out, but I think that we've made positive steps forward towards it. Right? 'cause England and I think of as a collective really, and we look at it from a business perspective, you know, home life is, is something entirely different.

I think my home life has become way calmer, to be fair, but that's more circumstance than it is intention. 'cause kids have left home all. So it's just calmer generally, isn't it? So I think it's that, and that's what you do within your reflections. And so before we came on, I was like, calm. Did he achieve it?

No. But now that I sit here and think about it. We tried really hard throughout that whole year. It didn't slip off the radar, and that's what you need to look at. Did you try and where did you get derailed? So what was it about last year that derailed you or stopped you in your tracks or became not, you know, decluttering is not a linear process.

This is something life always constantly gets in the way. For us, it was fun stuff that we were doing. You know, who would not want that? Who would not want a book launch and loads of press articles and awards and all that. It's all really nice stuff. So, and in our, in our home life, we have nice stuff like.

Babies being born and do you know all of the nice stuff going on, lovely holidays, last minute, or you know, all of those kind of things. But equally, we have things that are not so nice as well that derail us. But we need to look at that as a whole and go, are we being realistic about where we are perceived failures are?

So we need to reflect, we need to absolutely, as Ingrid just said before. Think about not being so hard on ourselves and just looking at what we didn't do and look at what we did do really, really important. And that links into what I was just saying about our pursuit of calm, which kind of didn't quite get there.

And then reflect on that and go, how can things be different? How am I going to put into 2026? A little bit of downtime, but these kind of things that which happen every single year to happen and not derail me. That's the important thing, is the learning, isn't it? Ingrid?

Ingrid: Yeah, definitely, definitely. And I think that really takes us then into, okay. Once we've done this reflection, how are we going to then look at this for 2026, right? How do we want things to be different? What? What are our focus areas? Will, what will they be? Now you're listening to a decluttering podcast, so we're assuming that decluttering is probably very high, you know, on your agenda.

It's big on your radar. but is that going to be the only focus for you this year? And within that decluttering then, can you identify maybe two or three areas in your home that are really important for you? Or are you like, wow, I actually only need to do a lot of work, but I also need to do a lot of learning about decluttering? Or are you like, well. I hear a lot like, okay, it's New Year, so this year I'm going to, I wanna get healthier. I wanna lose a bit of weight. I need to look at my, food that I make and the cooking. I wanna make better recipes, and I also want to, I got too much stuff in my house and I'm thinking about moving and, and, and I'm like, and I, and I think that's a lot. That's too many things. There's, I mean, between sleeping, eating, you know, cooking, laundry, I mean. You can't do everything at the same time. You're gonna have to go, right? And maybe 2026, if you're listening to this and you're like, okay, 2026, that's my year of decluttering. That's my, my, my big focus.

That's my big goal. But then we challenge you to go a step further and go, okay, it's great that you want to dick out to your house. We fully embrace that. We love it that you're here. We can help you with that. But our podcast and so many other things. But you can't just say, I wanna declot my house. Right Les?

You can't just keep it that vague

Lesley: Yeah, you gotta work out why, why is this important to you? Do you know what I mean? And you might think, well, that's really obvious why it's important. 'cause I want less stuff and I don't wanna. You know, but really break it down. What do you wanna achieve by declutter in your house? What is your, what we call our, your big picture goal?

What is gonna be different in your house when you have declutter it? What's gonna be, what's gonna be different in your life because you have decluttered your house? What will you be able to do differently? Will you be able to invite people round that you've not invited round for ages? Will you be able to do a big DIY or a decorating project?

Will you be able to host a part? Will you be able to downsize or move or save money or, you know, and all of these things. Once you have your big picture goal, then that allows you to work towards that goal, because otherwise I want to declutter my house. It's so arbitrary, isn't it? It's so. Random. You, you need to have a reason why you wanna do that.

And we all think that we know the reasons, but everyone's reasons are really different. Often on, in our Facebook group from time to time, we put a thing in, why do you want to equal to your home? Just to try and bring people back to basics with that. And the answers are all different. Yeah, all different at at some of the things that I've mentioned there.

So really try and. Stick to that and go, what is my big picture goal? It's super, super important. So, we really need to start, start thinking a little bit outside the box and thinking about things differently. You know, we really want you to think about if you always do what you've always done, we'll always get what you've always got.

It's so, so, so important. Isn't it language, because otherwise it just. Takes you off track and you just carry on making them same, you know, a little one step, you know, one step forward, three steps back, or three steps forward, one step back. We, we wanna be constantly moving forward. That's what we want from you.

In order to do that, you need to realize what's standing in your way. Nine times out of 10, it's because you're focusing very much on the stuff and not on the emotions that sit behind that stuff. You know? Anybody who's been with us for a while will realize that we are all about your emotional connection to clutter here.

We need to understand that. And it all starts with that big picture goal. So yeah. there's so much more that we could say about that, but just if we just leave you with that, like reflect on 2025 and think about why you want to equal to your house number two, and then we're gonna go into a, a kind more practical one here where people make mistakes.

'cause it's all one big, colossal. Chaotic mess in your words, not ours.

Ingrid: Yeah.

Lesley: And so we need to break it down and really understand what we're focusing on here. When we say, I want to declutter my house in inverted, what does that actually mean? We need to break it down.

Ingrid: Yeah, because what we see a lots of people say, I feel very overwhelmed. But if you then start to kind of talk, talk about that and go, okay, what are you feeling overwhelmed about? It's like, well, well, I, I've, I've got all this stuff and I've got all this clutter and I have to clean and I, I want to tidy up and I can't tidy up my house.

And then. I, I need to organize it and I can't find anything. And, and then even throwing some DIY in the mix as well and all just comes kind of one big mountain of thoughts and feelings and overwhelm. So what's really important is to understand that decluttering, Organising, tidying and cleaning are actually four different things. And what we know from experience is that it starts with decluttering. You have to first, if you've got a lot of clutter around you, and if it really brings you down, and if you feel really overwhelmed by all of the chores and all of the things the most. A helpful thing to do is actually have less stuff around you and declutter. We

Lesley: We.

Ingrid: many times. Ingrid, I've been forever moving stuff around my house. I've been forever Organising it. I've been forever trying to pack more stuff in my boxes by putting it in neat, I never. decluttered. I just keep churning it from one room to the next. You have to start with decluttering.

That's the basis of everything. Because once there, and we're not meaning, throw out 80% of your stuff, that's not what we're talking about here. It is really talking about, okay, let's just all thin it out a little bit everywhere, one, you, once you have. Less clutter. It's easier then to decide where it lives in your home.

It's easier to organize and of course, once more items can be put away in the place where they belong, then it's again, easier to tidy. So when you've used something, you know where it goes back to. And once it's easier to tidy, then it's easier to clean. own your weekly chores, your, your, your daily chores, your weekly and your monthly cleaning chores that you have to do. And then of course, at one point when the, when, when the levels are much lower in your house, then you can contemplate actually. The, I want new wallpaper on that wall, or, wow, I would love to change the lamps here, or I might need to change the, the, the carpet or whatever. But when every room is absolutely full of clutter, you can't even see that.

But you know in your head that this, all these things you wanna do. But our advice to you is start with decluttering. Don't start with tidying. Don't start with Organising, don't start with cleaning, start with decluttering, and then the rest will all slowly but surely fall into place.

Lesley: Absolutely. It's so important, isn't it, to take things back to basics. If something, if your 2025 did not go according to plan. Taking it back to basics and really trying to delve deep and understand people think diluting is a simple thing, and it's not simple at all. It's really not simple. It's hard and it's hard to work out where you're going wrong with it.

And so you really need to go back to basics and not skip the things that you are like, oh, I don't wanna do planning. I don't wanna, you know, I don't wanna break it down. I just wanna get stuck in and get rid of stuff. Once you understand that it's emotion, that it's the emotions that sit, be behind the stuff that are super important to you, then that's when you start making that headway.

We need these light bulb moments to start happening, and if you still carry on doing this the same way and just launch in and go, I'm gonna declutter whole house this weekend, you probably realistically. Not gonna make the headway that you want to in 2026 and have the same pattern happen as 2025. And we don't want that to happen for you because we know how much of a game changer decluttering your home can be on all other areas of your life.

So that whole idea of calm, which I spoke about before, which was my goal for 2025, I use that one word because it, it. It, it is involved in every single component of my life and having a calm home leads to a calm person that wants to go out and have nice relationships with my friends. And so that, and your home is so pivotal to that, to everything that goes on your working life.

Your sleep, your friendships, your relationships, your money, all of those things are related to your home. So it all starts at home, which is so important to get it. The why is so important to get it right. So let's go back to a break. We, I sound quite, we feel quite preachy today, don't you think? Feel quite preachy for the start of 2026.

Anyway, we'll go to a break now and we'll pop back in a moment to explain some more stuff. That's gonna get your 2026 off on the right foot.

Ingrid: Hi everyone. Welcome back. We, are talking about. Plans and goals for 2026, how you can learn from 2025. the one thing that we also wanted to talk about in this podcast is how important an exit plan is, because of course, we want you to declutter, organize clean tide in all the things. But what happens when you declutter your home? Is that you're going to create stuff that you no longer want. There's loads of stuff that you want to keep, that you use, that you love, which is great. It's gonna find the right place. But what are you going to do with the items that no longer serve you, that no longer, know, have earned the place in your home that you're like, why do I still have this item? But what to do with all the stuff that you're letting go, Lesley? We need to have an exit plan.

Lesley: Yeah. And we need to work out what the exit plan is before we even start to declutter, really, because it is one of the things that stalls us. And so I bet, I bet you a lot of people will go, well, I did declutter in 2025, but as I look around, I've still got bin bags of stuff in the, You know, under my desk or in the garage waiting to go to charity, waiting to be sold, whatever that might be, because we've not got to that final stage of an exit plan.

And so the exit plan is as important as doing the decluttering to be fair. And so you really need to think that through. 'cause more often than not, that is the thing. Where people perceive that they have then failed. 'cause then you lose complete control. It just ends up in a bin bag in the garage and then you forget what's in there.

You get nervous about what you've let go of and you end up having to go through it all again. And so you just repeat the cycle. So an exit plan is super, super important as are many things. We have a cycle of success that we use, in the Inner Hub, which is our membership. And so. You've just got to do all of the things in the right order.

Ingrid was talking before about decluttering, Organising, tidying, and cleaning. It's the same process. It's about understanding how all the components of, of decluttering in commerce fit together is really, really important. So think about that exit plan. And there are many, many more things that need to be done in order for, a successful declutter to take place now.

You're probably thinking, oh, that's kind of, you've talked about a big picture goal. You've talked about the difference, but you've not really given me anything tangible as to how I'm actually gonna do this. Well, that's good because we've got good news, haven't we? Ingrid, we've got something in which is gonna delve into things a little bit deeper.

Coming right up, ready to embrace that 2026 excitement and energy. What's coming up, Ingrid?

Ingrid: Yes, we are doing our Reset Your Home Challenge. It's a five day completely free challenge on our website. We're starting on Monday and we love it. We are so happy that we have thousands and thousands of people who've signed up to join us for this challenge, and you can still join us. So if you're thinking to yourself yes. 2026 is going to be my year when I want to focus on decluttering. I need to do more learning. I need to work together. I need to get an understanding of how am I going to do this. The challenge is the right thing for you. Go to Declutter Hub dot com slash RYH to sign up, and we're going to have our kitchen kickstart session on Monday the 5th of January.

Lesley: Yeah, absolutely. So we, every day what we do is we tackle, one room for the first three days. We do the kitchen on Monday, as Ingrid has said. We, we do the bathroom on Tuesday, and we do the bedroom on Wednesday. Then on the Thursday of the challenge, we go in to talk about resets and routines. On the Friday we do a, Q&A because there's a lot of people who are like, well, I've got questions about my specific home and circumstance that I'd love Ingrid and Lesley to ask.

So that's basically the way the challenge, fits together. So we go live every day for just over an hour. And so I bet you think, oh, you know, an hour's a long time. If you want this to happen, will you need to commit and focus? The time to do the learning is so, so important so that we can think about things a little bit differently.

Now, we've done this challenge many times before. It's a real firm favorite here in the Declutter Hub, and it has kickstarted thousands of people's journeys towards decluttering success. So it's really something that we will wholeheartedly recommend that you take part in. Everything's available on replay as well.

So if you can't be there, live Live is great. isn't it? Live is just fun because you're in the community of other people all doing the same thing. But the replays are there for, for the week of the challenge on the week after the challenge, free replays, so there's no excuses. if you're at work, which a lot of people are or got other things going on, you can catch up for that time as well.

We've got little bits of homework. We've got bonuses as well, little video bonuses and checklists and things like that as well. We've got so much fun stuff. We, you know, we've really managed to perfect it after so many times of doing it, and we rarely change it because it's so successful. So, we would love you to join us for the Reset Your Home Challenge, and that might just give you the kickstart that you need for 2026.

So as Ingrid says, declutterhub.com/RYH, which stands for Reset Your Home just in case we're wondering. that is gonna be the place to sign up. We are here for you. We are committed on this. When do we, starting with the fifth of Jan, is that right? Monday, the, is it Monday the fifth? Yeah. Should know that, shouldn't I? Yeah. And we love it. It's a real lovely start to the year, isn't it? And it's a lot of fun. You know, everything. If you're brand new to us, what we, what we like more than anything is realism and fun and laughter, because we think if it's fun, you're probably more likely to stick around and do it.

So that's our little mantra, isn't it? Ingrid?

Ingrid: Yeah. Yeah, I know. It's, I think, you know, might think, oh my gosh, it's like literally we've literally just had the new year. And I already have to think about decluttering Organising, but you know what, we, every year we're just, we we're so excited about it because we, we see during the challenge, the mindset changes that people have, the, the light bulb moments that they experience during the challenge, the comradery with the other challengers as well, you know? It's like, oh wow, I'm not the only one who finds this hard and finds it really, difficult to, to let an item go. And there's other people who find it tricky too. And, and think about the environment and think of, and have that guilt. for, for when they need. They wanna, you know, let something go. And all of those things.

So I think it's so much more than just a five day challenge where we talk a little bit about stuff. I think it's really, we really talk about the emotions that sit behind the clutter and, mindset changes that people then have by listening and by taking part. So really make sure you don't

Lesley: Don't miss out sign.

Ingrid: honestly. it's going, it, it can be really a game changer for people and I think it's, it's, it's fantastic. So don't wait for any minute longer if you haven't. Signed up yet, come and join us and hang out with us. I mean, it's

Lesley: It's,

Ingrid: it's

Lesley: it's cold,

Ingrid: wet, it's

Lesley: it's wet.

Ingrid: it's rainy, it's boring. So why not have a bit of fun with us?

Lesley: I know. So, yeah, that's exciting. But before that, Ingrid, it is indeed the 2nd of January. And so what are you thinking for 2026? So let's, let's go down this route of, I know you've not thought about it, or maybe you have thought about it. Have you thought about it?

Ingrid: Yeah, I have thought about it a little bit.

Lesley: What's your, what's your word of the year? What's your resolution? What's your intention?

Ingrid: Well, my intention is actually to do a bit more, to, do a bit more strength training this

Lesley: Oh,

Ingrid: So I, yes,

Lesley: so.

Ingrid: two years ago, I kind of, three years ago, I, when I turned, I had turned 50, I thought, okay, I have to, I have to really start doing some sports. You know, just sitting on a desk and not moving is not really a good idea. So I started with first with walking and then I actually joined tennis as a lot of, you know, who've been listening in for a while, loved my tennis. And then last year,

Lesley: Oh, stop it. I can't even, I,

I can't even, I, I can't even, right. Go on. Go on.

Ingrid: last year I started with Pilates well correction reform a Pilates, and I had no idea what it was until I actually showed up in the Pilates studio and I saw these machines and I thought, oh, what's, what's the deal here? What's gonna happen? But now after listening to some more podcasts and reading some more articles, I think this year really is the year I have to do a bit more strength training.

So already said to me, my daughter, she said to me, mom, you need to go to the gym with me. And I'm a bit like, oh. But I think I'm gonna have to do it and just maybe even if it's only once per week, start to be lifting a little bit of weight because everybody keeps telling me how important that is.

So I, I'm, I'm, yeah, I, I can't, I'm not the same person. That was five years ago. Les. I mean, who would've thought I would've loved and actually joined Pilates? And I mean, I'm like, who am I?

Lesley: So this did happen a few weeks ago where Ingrid came back. So we catch up on a Monday after weekends and I was like, oh, what did you do? 'cause let me tell you about my weekends. I went to reform a Pilates and I nearly fell off my chair because I was like. You went to reformer Pilates without having done any kind of like yoga, Pilates, strength training, whatever.

I'm like, did you know what reformer Pilates was in which she's like, no, just went, just rocked up. Now, if that was me, to be fair English, that wasn't me. I would've been like. no, and just walk straight out, but not English. She gets on that machine and starts to just do her stuff. But there's so many like videos on Instagram and TikTok and stuff with like epic fails on like reformer Pilates machines where people are like, spread eagles on the floor, do themselves an injury.

So I'm really glad that you're sticking with it. That's amazing. So I think it's, and I do think it's a good idea to do strength training. It's something that I've, I've been doing for a while now, and I think it's really important, isn't it, for your bones as you get older, like.

Ingrid: Yeah.

Lesley: Was, was us like us, being old.

I think I'm gonna go, I think I'm gonna, I'm gonna stick with my calm and I do think, I do think it's gonna be calmer. I, I'm, I'm ever the optimist

Ingrid: Calm face two.

Lesley: yeah. Part calm, part two. I'm gonna stick with that. I'd rather just go for like a theme rather than specific intentions really. because then I. I can look back and go, well, I tried, like I did at the beginning of this podcast, didn't quite work out, but I tried, I did want to be calm and I constantly kept thinking about being calm, but it didn't quite happen.

So, so yeah, so interesting. So Ingrid's gonna go on every form of Pilates machine and be, be strong and able and capable, and I'm gonna be calmer. So together, Ingrid, we're gonna be a force to be reckoned with, aren't we this year?

Ingrid: I know, I, I think we're already force to be reckoned with Lesley, to be honest.

Lesley: I know exactly.

Ingrid: we absolutely love it. We absolutely love it. So. I hope this was helpful for you. I mean, 2nd of January. Come on. You know, thanks for listening in. You know, we appreciate you. Let's start there and, yeah, like we said, come and join us for the challenge.

Don't be shy. It's such a lovely place to hang out and, um. Like, uh, Lesley said dec hub.com/rh, or check the show notes for the link or just look at our socials. It'll probably be everywhere. We would love for you to join in and, we hope that you, take this opportunity, maybe this weekend to look back on 2025. Look at those big picture goals for 2026 and start to figure out your exit plan. You know, what am I going to do if decluttering is gonna be my main focus for 2026? Where are all these things gonna go? Do I have loads of stuff that needs to be returned to other people? Can I find a charity that I wanna support? there a, a free giveaway app that I hear everybody talking about, but I've never looked into? What are the things, what are the small things that you can put into place to make, to start to put these things in motion? Because a forward motion is always better than standing still because then you will be stuck where you are.

So. Thanks so much for listening. We appreciate you so much and, yeah, we are fast and, on our way to op to episode 400, but for now, we'll see you next week.
